My top 5 wishes for HTC One 2014 aka HTC One Two(Updated)

Friend date is here for live stream go to HTC website  http://www.htc.com/

UPDATE 2 : Just wait for March 25 and it may be called HtcOneUp
htc buyers remorse

UPDATE 1 : According to recent leaks  HTC M8 may be called The All New One or simply just HTC One(2014) and would come in gray, silver, and gold.

HTC in one the OEM of android and after it gain it popularity because of it built design by launching htc one last year in February it is expected to launch the successor at WMC. I am huge fan of htc phone just because of its built design its the only competitor to the iPhones in built quality. HTC One(2013) is a great phone till date but htc have left some areas for improvement. So here are my top 5 wishes

Better specification
By no means HTC One(2013) is a bad phone because of its specification till date. But due to recent upgradation technology
  • It should include a Snapdragon 805 which will clock up to 2.5GHz on each of its four cores.
  • It should include 3Gb of ram as we have seen in galaxy note 3 and rumored other phones.
  • It should include the Adreno 420 to power all the beautiful pixels across your screen.
All the above will improve the overall experience of the phone improve multitasking, playing high end games, it will also open doors for developer to develop new powerful apps

Bigger screen and battery
By no means HTC One is small device . 4.7" is still bigger than the iPhones and is standard for most of the phones(moto x). But seeing that nexus 5 was able include a bigger screen 4.95" despite measuring the same in size. It should decrease bezels and increase screen size.

Bigger phone size allow room for bigger battery. I think finally in 2014 we will be able to see 3000mAh batteries  in 5" phones. And sure it will have qi charging but still bigger battery will be much appreciated .

Better camera
This is the most important criteria for some of the buyers. HTC was the first to realizes that its not about the megapixel count but about bigger and better sensor. Its 4"Ultra Pixel" was supposed to compete  with 13MP phones. There has been rumors about twin sensor but i will be more good if they make it a 10"Ultra Pixel" and improve focus ,flash ans and a bigger sensor

Screen Display
Its most likely that it will include 1080p full HD resolution but there is a scope for improvement there they can either make it 2k or 4k as more and more 4k content will go mainstream in 2014. There has been rumors that New HTC One will include on screen keys(finally Yeah!!!). This will make this phone  experience more like Nexus.

Random suggestion
Button placement should be improve, more colour option at the beginning of launch, availability of phone SHOULD  be improve to a greater extend, improve after sale support(HTC has committed to open more customer center in India by year end). Sence 6.0 and android kitkat 4.4.2 Should be launch by march 2014.

HTC One 2 / HTC M8 exclusive 3D concept from +TechRadar

What do you feel about my prediction of HTC One 2014 aka HTC One Two? Will you buy if my prediction are correct or you will wait for GPe(if it is )?
Is there anyone thing I missed please feel free to write that in comment down below. It will be much appreciated.

Why is BlackBerry wasting time with BBM for Android Gingerbread?

UPDATE: Now, anyone with a device running Gingerbread (v. 2.3) can also get hold of the free app.
Its seems like that the BBM running on Gingerbread is bit buggy and on some devices the app force closes.

BlackBerry Messenger, a popular messaging service in some markets, will soon be updated to support older Android devices. BBM has accrued tens of millions of new users on Android and iOS.
The BBM team announced that a release that also supports Gingerbread phones is now in beta, with a target launch for February. More specifically, the updated BBM for Android app will support devices running Android 2.3.3 and higher. Launched in October BBM currently only supports Android 4.0 and higher which left out Gingerbread, the three-year-old version of Android that was popular among entry-level Android smartphones
Also, BBM’s past hasn't been all that glorious. Remember how it topped the charts when Blackberry launched it on Android and iOS? BBM is currently on number 130 on the top free apps in the Indian Google Play store and ranks 137 on Apple’s App Store.
But Why for 3 years old Operating system
  1. Till January 8th, there was still 21 percent of all Android users still running Gingerbread translating in millions of potential new users.
  2. Many other IM apps like whatsapp, wechat are available on more OS's than BBM. So it will give BBM a little edge in that game
  3. According to the recent report BBM is being separated from Blackberry, so Its new team can entirely focus on one project.
  4. BlackBerry products and services are still very popular in developing markets like India, Indonesia and many other developing markets.
This new is a good new for all the gingerbread user. Its a good thing to have an app (BBM in this case) available across the whole range of Android OS. But it will good to see if Blackberry increase the number of OS's it support in future.

What do you think should Blackberry continue to extend BBM to more OS's? Will it really help blackberry?
Let us know in the comment below .Please comment if you are a Gingerbread user

What Exactly is Google Play Edition Devices?

Hello Everyone,

Today Let's talk about Google Play Edition Device, commonly called or short forms as GPe devices.

Google Experience devices are Google-sanctioned Android devices that, while not carrying the Google Nexus branding, still ship with a 'stock' build of the operating system modified only to cater for device-specific hardware features. Updates for these devices are delivered by Google (bypassing carriers), but are supplied by the original device manufacturer.

On May 16, 2013 at Google I/O Hugo Barra take out a samsung galaxy S4 from his back pocket, the latest flagship phone of Samsung at the stage where people were expecting the next Nexus, but rather than hardware of S4 he talk about software on  S4. It was running the Stock android (to be specific nearly stock android as we know now). He also announced that it will go on sale in june(also GPe htc One was released with it) Everyone one was surprised to see how you can get rid of the ugly and laggy touchwiz on Samsung devices and can use stock android which Google supply to OEMs.

Thats where the whole GPe devices started. And he also announced that it will be continued........

BUT....... Long after months and months nothing happen,  then came 2 new GPe devices - Sony Z Ultra and LG G Pad 8.3 (Both on December 10) and if you remember Motorola also launched Moto G Google Play Edition(On January 14th 2014).

Then I realised the real meaning of this whole Google Play Edition Devices.

This device can be called as Google Experience device as this give us nearly stock android and fast update. But then I realised how many Google Play Edition device you see in real life? I think ZERO

Yeah these devices are not made for general public, this are made for the developer to develop apps on all the different specification of devices. This is same approach as Nexus Devices but in variety. If you compare GPe devices you will see every phone has different specification so that developer can develop apps according to their screen size, processor, display, and many other criteria. As they come with unlock bootloader they are more developer friendly. So we can call them as DEVELOPER EDITION DEVICE.

Advantages for Google/android

  1. Providing faster updates to the devices and end fragmentation
  2. Making unified experience across all the devices.
  3. Make android more developer friendly giving them more option to choose from

Advantages for OEM's

  1. More app for their specific Devices.
  2. Make them the best OEM amongst the other.
  3. Gain popularity in the Tech World.

Do you think this will beneficial for Google and OEM's? Will be continued in future? Let us know which Google Play Edition Device you would Like to see in 2014 in the comment below.

NOTE:
  • Google Play Edition Devices are US specific
  • Motorola Xoom(runs stock  Android 3.0 Honeycomb) and htc Dream(first android phone runs stock android) are also Google experience devices.

Google and Samsung Patent Deal(10 Years)

Patent are the most important things for the companies now a days. We can see most of the big companies like Samsung, Apple, HTC, Sony, Microsoft, Google are in some or the other lawsuit with other companies related  the infringement of patents. Companies like apple and Nokia are know to be aggressive when it came to patent lawsuit.

Google is one the companies that have said that we will not fight with patents rather with innovation. It has many steps to prevent patent troll. Due to constant growth of android popularity, many have sued either google or android OMEs(majorly Samsung).

Both componies are under one umberala of android, they dont seen to be threat to each other but this deal is beneficial for both the companies. But it important to note that some of the patents are not cover under this deal. So I fell that Google is most like to preserve some of its Motorola, google[x] lab and android patent on the other side Samsung will like to prevent some of its research and touchwiz patents.

Andvantages for Samsung:

  1. Clearly in the defending lawsuit againts other companies mainly Apple.
  2. Getting most the patents regarding andoid to improve touchwiz

Advantages for Google:

  1. Some of the key hardware patents for its subsidy Motorola.
  2. Adding more feature to stock android that are available on touchwiz.
Will this really help google or samsung?
Let us know what you think about this Deal in comment below. It will be appreciated.
